Problems with CPR validation
There may be several reasons why your CPR number is not automatically validated when you enter it.
How CPR number validation works during registration
When you enter your CPR number during registration, one of two things will happen:
-
A green confirmation message appears, meaning your CPR number has been successfully validated — you can proceed with the registration.
-
A red error message appears, stating that your CPR number could not be validated. See the possible reasons and next steps below.
This usually happens because the name or CPR number you entered does not exactly match the information held in the CPR register.
Common reasons why CPR validation fails:
-
A missing apostrophe in your name (e.g., O'Brien)
-
A typing error in your name or CPR number
-
Incorrect use of first name vs. middle name (enter your name exactly as it appears in your official records)
